Our leaders uphold standards, take responsibility and are accountable.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>2<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Robust controls <\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Health, safety, and the protection of the environment is not just the absence of incidents, but the presence of robust controls.<\/strong>It is a continuous process and not an end state. Consequence is largely a matter of chance, and while high incident rates indicate poor performance, lower numbers don&#8217;t necessarily point to good performance or a critical incident-free workplace.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>3<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Proactive risk management <\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>The risk of unwanted events is constantly assessed, and effective barriers are implemented and verified before people or the environment are exposed to risk.<\/strong>How well an organisation adapts to and manages risk is a good indicator of how well it is performing in terms of health, safety, and the environment.This includes planning for the entire lifecycle of processes and facilities (from construction to demolition) in the design stage, incorporating effective controls and managing their health, planning for failure of preventive barriers and having sufficient mitigative barriers in place.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>4<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Culture of trust <\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>A belief that learning from human error is essential for continuous improvement and to develop resilient health, safety and environmental systems. <\/strong>A culture of trust fosters open communication, collaboration, and innovation, leading to higher employee engagement, productivity, and overall organisational success.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>5<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>You Matter. They form part of the critical incident prevention safety pillar.<\/p>\n\t<p>The Life Savers reinforce the behaviours we want our people to follow, so everyone can return home safely at the end of the day.
